Truth be told, I was in mid-nervous breakdown when my mother-in-law happened to come by, and she helped me through the entire process. She stood there with me for hours, peeling inch by inch, talking me through the entire thing, starting at exactly the moment I was sure I was going to lose my mind. I had been using all of the right stuff to score and remove it, but I wasn't soaking it thoroughly enough, and that's why it wouldn't budge. And also, whatever nut put that stuff up used triple the glue that was necessary.
(Of course that nut was me.)
Normally I would not have blogged about it at all, but given the NaBloPoMo circumstances, I suppose you get the worst of me with the best. It was a classic Straw That Broke The Camel's Back scenario. The wallpaper wouldn't come off, the house wouldn't sell, I'm missing the holiday season kickoff, I'm terribly tired, cry, cry, cry.
Stupid house at 7pm, wallpaper down.
Stupid house at midnight, painted.
Can I also share with you, in the most Not Surprised Way Possible, that Jackson has effectively learned to use the word dammit? Earlier in the week, Kevin's car needed the catalytic converter replaced. It sat in the shop for five days waiting for the part. And when the initial spit hit the fan? I might have used that word and many others, so I'm dammit lucky that's the worst he picked up.
As he climbed into his car seat the other day, he exclaimed, "Dammit car!"
As I changed his diaper and he waited less than patiently, he exclaimed, "Come on, dammit!"
As we sat down to dinner last night, after witnessing his mother in Spastic Mode earlier that afternoon, he exclaimed, "Dammit house!"
I suppose I should resolve this, since, (snicker snicker) Noooo Honey! isn't working. It IS a little bit cute, dammit.
We're going Christmas shopping today. It's just what the doctor ordered, dammit.

The rooms look great. Hooray for helpful mothers-in-law!
Now enjoy your shopping, dammit! :)

Just to make you have a little hope. My husband and I made an offer on the house we now own on December 14th of last year. And we closed on Jan 5th. We were moving and wanted to do it fast. I know it totally sucked for the two people and their 18 month old twins for the holidays, but their house had been on the market over 2 months and we were moving from TN to PA. So it can happen over the holidays! Have faith!

I would like to request some video of Jack saying "damnit." It would really bring me some much needed holiday cheer. :)

Great color! Is it aloof? Dammit can be heared on a near daily basis at our house too, mainly from a nearly 4 year old.
Makes Mama real proud, don't it?(shudder)

Dammit the house looks good! Maybe that should be the name of the paint color?
Hope you got some Christmas shopping done, dammit! I missed it too - that and pumpkin pie are my favorite things about Thanksgiving - and we didn't have either this year! We're having pie today, dammit!!
Dammit rocks! I think I have a new favorite word, too. Thanks, Gack!

Hello just thought I would let you know that you can take wallpaper down with fabric softener. Put it in a spray bottle with hot water.

Dammit! Considering what comes out of most people's mouths, that is not so bad.
Hope you shopped til you dropped! A little retail therapy is always good.

Dammit that's cute! Dammit, I am glad he has finally learned to cuss. Dammit I was starting to worry about Alyssa cussing already.
